So Saturday was my Birthday thank you to everyone for the phone calls, cards, birthday wishes, etc. I had a wonderful day, Andrew and Sophie let me sleep in...I woke up because it was too quiet! Andrew and Soph went out and brought me back a smoothie for breakfast. We went out for lunch, hung out as a fam, and then our friends took care of Sophie for the evening and we went out to Bonefish grill for dinner (yummy!!). Then we came home and we watched my Trojans DEMOLISH the Ohio State buckeyes!!!Thursday, September 04, 2008

It was a wonderful visit, the time flew by and when it was all over I cried for days...being homesick stinks!!! But we are coming home soon!!! :)
Miss you two...love you...xoxoxo

Hello friends :) Sorry I have been away for so long...We are settled into the new house but had not hooked up the main computer, and needless to say it is much easier than trying to update on a slow laptop. Anyway...things around here have been great, we are loving the house, it is starting to feel like our home. Sophia is growing so fast, she will be a year in three weeks!! I can not believe how fast time flies. She is constantly learning new "tricks" and is still such a sweet happy baby (we love her)! Andrew has been working like crazy on Gears 2. It has been the summer of crunch, we are so proud of him and all the hard work he is doing for our family, but we are super excited that it is winding down and we can see him more!!
Playing with her toys (and standing)
Just being cute.
Sleeping in her "big girl" car seat (notice the alligator print on the cover)
Standing, looking out the front doors, wearing her new tennis shoes!

Here is Sophia and I waiting for the tow truck :) Yep...it was kinda one of those afternoons. I had an hour before Sophia needed her next meal, and I thought we would quickly drop by Linen's and Things to look for some new bath rugs. When we came out my car was dead. Now it's 97 degrees outside, Sophia needs to eat in about 15 min (for an added bonus she is teething and not so thrilled). Anyway I call triple A and they say it will be about 80 minutes. I will admit that Phil 4: 4 was not what popped into my head. I was annoyed, hot and cranky.
The point is, I thought about what kind of example I was setting for Sophia. Granted I don't think she fully understands what is going on. But what if she does? She can tell when I am frustrated. What example am I setting for her if I am complaining and cranky. So I started to think of things I was thankful for and listed them off to Sophia while we were standing waiting for the tow truck.
1. I am thankful for the air conditioning inside the store.
2. I am thankful for cold bottles of water.
3. I am thankful that we have triple A.
4. I am thankful that my phone had a camera so I could take this picture of Sophia and I.
5. I am thankful that I have my sweet little girl to keep me company.
6. I am thankful that we have a car.
7. I am thankful that even though my afternoon is not going the way I want, it does not change the fact that God is seated on His thrown sovereign over all circumstances!
And when all was said and done, our car was fixed and we headed home for a lovely (slightly delayed) meal .
